Direct answer: The NuGen Fusion XT manual publishes order numbers for the softener’s replaceable parts. Most are shared across the XT-32C, XT-48, XT-60, XT-70, XT-70ER and XT-90. Three parts change with the model and must match it: the injector (white CV-P-V3010-1E for the XT-32C, 48 and 60; blue -1F for the XT-70 and 70ER; yellow -1G for the XT-90), the drain line flow control (2.7, 3.2 or 4.2 gpm), and the piston and spacer stack, which are 1¼-inch versions on the XT-90. The manual does not list a resin order number and gives no prices. Get parts and pricing through your dealer or NuGen.
Publisher boundary: Water System Guide is an independent research publisher. We do not sell parts and have no relationship with NuGen, Gemline or any parts retailer. The order numbers below are copied from the NuGen Fusion XT manual (footer revision 5/10/2012) reviewed October 8, 2026. Confirm each part against your valve and its current availability before ordering. Opening the control valve is service work.
Which Fusion XT parts depend on the model?
| Part | XT-32C | XT-48 / XT-60 | XT-70 / XT-70ER | XT-90 | Manual page |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Injector assembly | CV-P-V3010-1E (white) | CV-P-V3010-1E (white) | CV-P-V3010-1F (blue) | CV-P-V3010-1G (yellow) | 24 |
| Drain line flow control (DLFC), ¾” | CV-P-V3162-027 (2.7 gpm) | CV-P-V3162-027 (2.7 gpm) | CV-P-V3162-032 (3.2 gpm) | CV-P-V3162-042 (4.2 gpm) | 26 |
| Spacer stack assembly | CV-P-V3005 | CV-P-V3005 | CV-P-V3005 | CV-P-V3430 (1.25) | 21–23 |
| Downflow piston assembly | CV-P-V3011 | CV-P-V3011 | CV-P-V3011 | CV-P-V3407 (1.25) | 21–23 |
| Distributor tube O-ring | CV-P-V3105 (215) | CV-P-V3105 (215) | CV-P-V3105 (215) | CV-P-V3358 (219) | 21–23 |
| PC board | CV-P-V3108 (XT-32C) | CV-P-V3377MR | CV-P-V3377MR | CV-P-V3377MR | 18–19 |
| Installation fittings | BP-C-V3007 (1” PVC male NPT elbow) | BP-C-V3007 | BP-C-V3007 | BP-C-V3007-05 (1¼” plastic male NPT) | 29 |
| Brine float assembly | 474-30 (cabinet) | 474-30 (14 x 14 tank) | 474-30 (14 x 14 tank) | 474-36 (18 x 40 tank) | 30–32 |
The injector and drain flow control match the model’s drain flow rating on the performance data sheets: 2.7 gpm for the XT-32C, 48 and 60, 3.2 for the XT-70 and 70ER, and 4.2 for the XT-90. A wrong injector or DLFC is one of the causes the manual’s troubleshooting table lists for brine-draw problems. If someone has replaced either, check that the part number matches the model.
The brine float assignments come from the brine tank drawings for the 18 x 40 tank (474-36) and the 14 x 14 tank and cabinet (474-30). The 2023 Gemline brochure lists different brine tank sizes for some models, so match the float to the tank you actually have.

| Two-piece brine overflow set | BTP-OVERFLOW | 30–32 |
| Service wrench | CV-P-V3193-02 | 20 |
The manual notes on printed page 20 that the service wrench is not provided with the system and must be bought separately, although no tools are required to assemble or disassemble the valve. It warns to bypass and depressurize the system before using the wrench. The meter page warns that the water meter should not be used as the primary monitoring device for critical or health-effect applications.
What battery does a Fusion XT use?
The drive-assembly drawings on printed pages 18–19 say the battery replacement is a 3-volt lithium coin cell, type 2032, seated with positives aligned. The site requirements on printed page 5 of the same manual say “Batteries are not used.” The troubleshooting table resolves this partly: it refers to a PC board that has battery backup present. Check your board before buying one. If it has a coin-cell holder, the 2032 is the size the manual names.
Which parts fix which symptoms?
The manual’s troubleshooting table (printed pages 14–17) links parts to faults:
- Hard water, or the valve fails to draw brine: plugged injector, faulty regenerant piston, refill flow control restriction, damaged seal/stack, or a mismatched control valve body and piston type.
- Water running to drain: damaged seal/stack, piston failure, or a drive cap not tightened properly.
- Error codes E1–E3 and Err-1004: motor, PC board, reduction gears, drive bracket, piston and stack. See our Fusion XT error code guide.
- No regeneration: broken drive gear, drive cap assembly or piston rod, or the PC board.
- No flow shown on the display: meter not connected, stalled turbine, or a defective meter.
A part number is not a diagnosis. Our Gemline not-softening checklist explains the owner checks to make before ordering anything.
Resin, salt and other consumables
Resin. The parts pages list no resin order number. The performance data gives the resin volume per model: 1 cubic foot for the XT-32C, 1.3 for the XT-48, 1.7 for the XT-60, 2.18 for the XT-70 and 70ER, and 2.5 for the XT-90 (printed pages 33–34). Ask your dealer or NuGen what replacement resin they specify. Our Gemline warranty guide explains the 10-year resin term and its chlorine condition.
Salt. The manufacturer recommends pelletized sodium chloride in these softeners (printed page 33). If the brine tank ran out of salt, the manual says to refill it and wait at least two hours before regenerating (printed page 12). Our softener salt guide covers salt types generally.
Sanitizing after service. The start-up instructions say to sanitize on initial start-up and after servicing the valve. Add two ounces of 5.25% household chlorine bleach per cubic foot of resin to the brine well, then run a regeneration (printed page 13). By our arithmetic from the resin volumes, that is about 2.6 ounces for an XT-48 and 5 ounces for an XT-90. The manual adds that local codes may specify a different method.
Tubing. The installation section specifies a ½-inch ID drain tube (or ¾-inch NPT for rigid pipe), a 3/8-inch OD polyethylene brine line, and a separate ½-inch ID overflow line that must not be tied into the valve’s drain line (printed page 6).
Where do you get Fusion XT parts?
The manual directs owners with questions to their local dealer or NuGen Pure Water Systems in Lindon, Utah (printed page 3). Defective parts under warranty must be returned freight prepaid, and service must be done by an authorized technician. Before you buy a part yourself, ask:
- Is the part still covered under the 5-year parts tier, and who performs the replacement?
- Is the order number in this manual still current for my valve, or has it been superseded?
- What labor, trip and freight charges apply? None are included in the manufacturer warranty.
Frequently asked questions
What injector does a Fusion XT-48 use?
The NuGen manual lists injector assembly CV-P-V3010-1E (white) for the XT-32C, XT-48 and XT-60. The XT-70 and XT-70ER use CV-P-V3010-1F (blue), and the XT-90 uses CV-P-V3010-1G (yellow).
Is the Fusion XT service wrench included?

What drain flow control does a Fusion XT-90 need?
The manual lists DLFC CV-P-V3162-042, rated 4.2 gpm, for the XT-90. The XT-70 and XT-70ER use the 3.2 gpm CV-P-V3162-032, and the XT-32C, XT-48 and XT-60 use the 2.7 gpm CV-P-V3162-027.
What salt should I use in a Gemline Fusion XT softener?
The Fusion XT performance data sheet states that the manufacturer recommends pelletized sodium chloride salt for these softeners.
