Direct answer: HALO publishes part numbers for only a handful of consumable parts: the Sediment Guard replacement cartridges H-SGRC510 and H-SGRC520, and the UV system’s H-UV12-LAMP-HD lamp, H-UV12-SLEEVE-HD quartz sleeve and H-UV12-BALLAST-HD ballast. The HALO 5 and ION 2.0 Plus are sold as maintenance-free, so their “parts” are mostly warranty items: one replacement tank, one carbon media package within 10 years, control valve parts and components HALO promises to keep available. Every HALO warranty we reviewed requires “HALO approved replacement components” and contact with HALO before any repair.
Publisher boundary: Water System Guide is an independent research publisher, not a HALO dealer or parts seller. This page uses the HALO 5, CK10, Sediment Guard, UV, acid neutralizer and H2 Zero Ultimate documents and the HALO 5, CK10 and ION warranties hosted on halowater.com, reviewed October 15, 2026. HALO publishes no parts prices, and we do not list any.
Parts HALO lists by number
| Part number | What it is | Interval HALO publishes | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| H-SGRC510 | Replacement filter for the H-SG510 Sediment Guard | Not stated on the spec sheet; yearly when installed after an H2 Zero Ultimate | Sediment Guard spec sheet; H2 Zero Ultimate manual |
| H-SGRC520 | Replacement filter for the H-SG520 Sediment Guard | As above | Sediment Guard spec sheet |
| H-UV12-LAMP-HD | UV replacement bulb | 1 a year | UV spec sheet |
| H-UV12-SLEEVE-HD | UV quartz sleeve | Every 3 years | UV spec sheet |
| H-UV12-BALLAST-HD | UV ballast | Not stated | UV spec sheet |
The Sediment Guard spec sheet describes both housings as “5 micron” pleated filters that reduce “sediment, sand, silt, scale and rust particles.” The H-SG510 measures 18 x 7.75 inches and the H-SG520 23.75 x 7.75 inches, both with 4.5-inch-diameter filters (Sediment Guard spec sheet). Where the Sediment Guard is installed after an H2 Zero Ultimate, that system’s manual says it “must be installed downstream” and to “replace the filter yearly” (H2 Zero Ultimate manual).
The UV spec sheet gives “H-UV12-Lamp 1 a year” and “H-UV12-Sleeve every 3 years” and says a lamp in service a year or more “should be replaced.” It also notes that where hardness is above 7 gpg the UV unit can still work “provided the quartz sleeve is cleaned” (UV spec sheet). A red indicator and alarm on the UV is covered in our HALO error codes guide.
HALO 5: “maintenance free,” with warranty-backed media
The HALO 5 spec sheet headlines the system as “MAINTENANCE FREE • 10 YEAR WARRANTY” and lists five stages: GAC, catalytic HAC, HALO Ag Plus, high-density garnet and the HALO ION conditioner (HALO 5 spec sheet). There are no cartridges to change. HALO’s FAQ ties carbon life to “the average water use of a family of four over ten years, or 1 million gallons,” and says the end of life on an H5-100 is reached after about 1 million gallons or “if the treated water tests positive for chlorine.”
The parts that can need replacing, and what the HALO 5 warranty commits to (HALO 5 warranty):
- Tank. “HALO will provide one (1) replacement tank for any tank that fails due to a manufacturing defect.”
- Carbon media. HALO “will provide one (1) replacement carbon media package at no charge (except freight and handling) for 10 years from the date of installation due to media failure. (Chlorine only).”
- Control valve parts. HALO “will, within ten years from date of install repair or replace warranted defective control valve parts at no charge.”
- Availability. HALO “warrants that components for the equipment will be available for the lifetime of the system” and will supply “comparable components of our selection to replace any obsolete items.”
- Quantity limit. On a return, HALO “will at our option, provide replacement parts, no more than two parts at no cost, except freight, handling charges.”
The spec sheet’s installation summary lists a 15-volt transformer with a 15-foot cord. The control valve motor is the part named in HALO’s E1/E2 instructions, which say to reseat it if it does not move.
CK10 softener parts
HALO does not publish a CK10 parts list with part numbers. The documents describe the parts that matter:
- Resin. The CK10 spec sheet gives 1.5, 2 and 2.5 cubic feet for the H-CK10-150, 200 and 250 (CK10 spec sheet). The CK10 warranty covers resin for 1 year, extended to 10 years if a HALO 5, H2 Zero or Mini system is used as pretreatment (CK10 warranty).
- Tanks. A 10” x 54”, 12” x 52” or 13” x 54” mineral tank depending on size, and an 18” x 36” brine tank. The warranty provides one replacement tank within ten years.
- Valve and electronics. HALO “will replace any part on the valve or electronics which fails within (5) five years from date of manufacture.” The warranty says the valve “shall be covered for 10 years if CK10 is pretreated with a HALO 5, H2 Zero or Mini system.”
- Bypass and connectors. The spec sheet says CK10 systems “include a high flow bypass and 1” plastic elbow plumbing connectors.”
- Transformer and battery. The manual describes a transformer power pack with a 15-foot cord “for dry location use only.” It also refers to a “non rechargeable battery” that should be replaced if the clock flashes after a short outage, while another page says the valve “does not need batteries” (CK10 manual, PDF page 5). Confirm with HALO before ordering one.
The manual says the valve “uses no traditional fasteners,” with “clips, threaded caps and nuts and snap type latches,” and that “caps and nuts only need to be firmly hand tightened because radial seals are used.” The tools named are a small and a large blade screwdriver and pliers, or a plastic wrench that replaces them. It also lists chlorine as a limit on coverage: “media and internal control valve parts will not be covered for systems at or above 1 sppm chlorine concentrated feed waters.”
ION 2.0 Plus
The ION has no consumable parts. The ION warranty covers the magnetic bar for 25 years and, for the first 10 years, “the magnetic bar, housing and labor ($125 LABOR / $50 part allowance) on approved warranty claims.” Replacement is due “upon receipt of the defective unit, pre-paid replacement freight and proof of purchase” (ION warranty).
Specialty systems: media that gets used up
Some HALO systems are designed to consume media:
- Acid neutralizer (H-AN-100). The spec sheet says it “utilizes sacrificial media which adds calcium to your water” and “should have media added back to it periodically.” The media is calcite (acid neutralizer spec sheet).
- Iron/sulfur (H-IS-100, H-IS-150). The iron/sulfur spec sheet describes a manganese-dioxide media with automated backwashing and “no oxidizing chemicals needed for regeneration.” No media replacement interval is published.
Rules that apply to every HALO part
HALO’s warranties put conditions on who supplies and fits parts:
- Use HALO-approved components. The HALO 5 warranty says the system “must be maintained with HALO approved replacement components.”
- Call before replacing. “The customer must contact the HALO representative prior to any repairs or replacements.”
- Bypass and document. Before warranty action, the technician “must put system on by-pass and immediately contact HALO to provide model number, serial number and photos of system and problem site.”
- Return with an RMA. Returns need a Return Merchandise Authorization form, the defective parts, a copy of the warranty, the original receipt and the RMA number.
- Labor is yours. HALO “does not warrant to perform, pay for, or finance any repairs and/or installations.” The CK10 warranty likewise assumes “no responsibility for consequential damage, labor or expense.” The ION warranty’s labor allowance is the exception.
Our HALO warranty guide compares the warranty terms in more detail.
Before you order a part
HALO’s warranty process starts with identification, and so should a parts order. Find the model and serial number on the tank or valve label, and photograph the system and the failed part. The HALO 5 warranty asks for exactly those three things (model, serial and photos) before any warranty action, and it covers HALO 5 point-of-entry systems “up to 13” diameter” tanks. For a CK10, the size tells you the tank and resin volume:
| Model | Mineral tank | Resin | Brine tank | Peak flow |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| H-CK10-150 | 10” x 54” | 1.5 cu ft | 18” x 36” | 14 gpm |
| H-CK10-200 | 12” x 52” | 2 cu ft | 18” x 36” | 16 gpm |
| H-CK10-250 | 13” x 54” | 2.5 cu ft | 18” x 36” | 18 gpm |
HALO’s contact points for parts and warranty service are (800) 591-0538 and [email protected], both printed on the HALO 5 warranty. Because the warranty requires contacting a HALO representative before any replacement, ask your installer to place the order or confirm the part first.
Model pages with published specs
These model pages list HALO’s published specifications for each size: H5-100, H5-125, H-CK10-150, H-CK10-200, Sediment Guard H-SG510 and H-SG520.
Frequently asked questions
Does the HALO 5 have filters to replace?
No cartridges. The spec sheet calls it maintenance free, and the FAQ ties carbon life to about 1 million gallons, or ten years for a family of four. The HALO 5 warranty provides one replacement carbon media package within 10 years for chlorine-related media failure, plus freight and handling.
How often should the HALO UV lamp be replaced?
The UV spec sheet lists the H-UV12-LAMP-HD lamp once a year and the H-UV12-SLEEVE-HD quartz sleeve every 3 years. It says a lamp in service a year or more should be replaced.
What is the HALO Sediment Guard replacement filter?
The spec sheet lists H-SGRC510 for the H-SG510 and H-SGRC520 for the H-SG520. Both are 5-micron pleated filters. The H2 Zero Ultimate manual says the downstream Sediment Guard filter should be replaced yearly.
Can I use non-HALO parts?
HALO’s warranties say the system must be maintained with HALO-approved replacement components and that HALO must be contacted before any repair or replacement. Using other parts risks the coverage.
